OVERVIEW
A Walk Built Around Your Group
The Private Day Walking Escape is a fully tailored guided walking experience in Kerry — designed for those who want Fergal’s expertise and Kerry’s landscape entirely to themselves. No other walkers, no group dynamic to manage, no shared pace. Just your party, your guide and a route chosen specifically for you.
Whether you want a gentle half-day walk with time for stories and photography, a full-day mountain challenge at a strong pace, an evening sunset walk along the coast, or something built around a special occasion — Fergal will design the day around your group’s interests, fitness level and preferred level of adventure.

ROUTE INSPIRATION
Some Starting Points — Routes by Difficulty
Every private walk is tailored, so there’s no fixed menu. But to give you an idea of what’s possible, here are some of the routes Fergal regularly guides —
from a gentle half-day to a serious mountain challenge.
- Sneem Kerry Way Walk — 8km, 3.5 hours. A relaxed introduction to the Kerry Way from the village door.
- Lománagh (Shortened) Loop — 10km, 3 hours. Easy to Moderate. Moorland, meadow and forest with lovely valley views.
- Kenmare Walk on the Kerry Way — 9km. Quiet trails above Kenmare Bay with sweeping coastal views.
- Coomanassig Waterfall & Eagles Lake — 6km, 3 hours. Lower Dunkerron slopes, stone paths and open moorland to the 100m waterfall and Eagles Lake.
- Caherdaniel to Sneem on the Kerry Way — a classic section of the long-distance trail through south Kerry.
- Derrynane Woods and Mass Path — loop walk combining mature woodland, Derrynane beach and the historic Mass Path.
- Coad Ridge Walk and Kerry Way — a demanding ridge day with exceptional Wild Atlantic views.
- Mullaghanattin & Ballaghbeama Gap — serious mountain terrain in the Dunkerron range.
- Carrauntoohil — Ireland’s highest mountain, 1,038m. 6–7 hours. For fit, experienced walkers with appropriate kit.
For experienced hillwalkers who want to tick Ireland’s Top 100 peaks, Fergal guides specific summit routes by request:
- Mullaghanattin 773m — Ireland’s Matterhorn
- Knocknagantee 676m
- Beann 752m
- Finnararagh 667m
- Coomcallee 650m
- Colly 679m

All peaks subject to conditions on the day. Fergal confirms suitability based on your experience level and weather forecast.

HOW TO BOOK
How It Works
Step 1 — Get in Touch
WhatsApp or email Fergal with a brief description of your group, your dates and what kind of experience you’re looking for. He’ll get back to you quickly.
Step 2 — Short Conversation
Fergal will have a quick conversation — by WhatsApp or phone — to understand your group’s fitness level, interests and what you want from the day. This takes five minutes and makes the walk significantly better.
Step 3 — Proposal & Booking
Fergal puts together a tailored proposal — route, duration, format and price. Once agreed, a deposit secures your date.
