HOW CLUBS WORK WITH US
How It Works for Walking Clubs
Most walking club trips to Kerry are planned months in advance. The earlier you contact Fergal, the better the options for preferred dates, accommodation and route planning.
1. Initial Enquiry
Send Fergal an outline of your club trip — approximate dates, number of members, ability levels and what type of walking you want. Email or WhatsApp both work.
2. Route & Logistics Proposal
Fergal provides a detailed proposal — suggested routes for each day, guiding arrangement for your group size, accommodation options in and around Sneem and a clear cost breakdown.
3. Planning Confirmation
Deposit and confirmation secures the dates and arrangements. Fergal provides a preparation brief to share with club members — what to bring, meeting points, what to expect.
4. Your Club’s Kerry Experience
Professional guiding, Kerry’s finest routes and the kind of local knowledge that turns a good club trip into an exceptional one.

FAQs
Walking Club FAQs
-
Fergal guides groups up to 8 per guide. For larger clubs, he arranges additional qualified guides to run parallel groups — typically one guide per 8 walkers — so everyone gets the same quality of guided experience. This is costed accordingly.
-
Yes. For clubs with a wide range of ability, Fergal can suggest splitting into two paced groups — one covering more moderate terrain, one more demanding — running simultaneously with separate guides. This is a popular option for larger clubs with mixed membership.
-
For club trips — particularly in peak season (June–September) — as early as possible. Kerry is popular and accommodation for larger groups needs advance planning. Enquiries 6–12 months ahead are common for well-organised club trips.
-
Yes. Fergal has strong relationships with local B&Bs and guesthouses around Sneem and can help put together an accommodation package for your group. Álaind Lodge accommodates smaller groups; the local network handles larger parties.
-
Yes. Fergal can provide relevant safety documentation, group management protocols and his Mountain Leader credentials for clubs that require this for insurance or governance purposes. Mention this when you enquire.
